As AI images flood the world, artists debate authorship and authenticity, while control, guardrails and ethics fall dangerously behind.
AIRT opens the black box of AI image generation, following creatives caught on both sides. AI artists Sam Finn and David Sheldrick describe embracing the technology in to their workflows. Boris Eldagsen entered an AI image into a major photography prize, won, and refused it. Photographers Nick Dunmur and Tim Flach trace how their work was harvested into training datasets, and argue over whether prompting is a craft at all.
As the future of copyright, creativity and culture is debated, the conversation takes a darker turn. Lawyer Noelle Martin, whose own images were used against her, exposes the underground built around synthetic abuse, and a shared fear emerges: that we are losing the ability to trust what we see.
